It's hard to believe, but it's already been one year since I was elected as the Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre. This past year has been an incredible honour. From day one, my focus has been simple – show up, listen, and work hard for you. And over the last year, that's exactly what I've tried to do. I've taken part in more than 450 community events and meetings – that's hundreds of conversations with people across Kitchener Centre, hearing what matters to you, what's working, and where we need to do better. Those conversations guide the work that I do every single day. In our office, that work also means delivering real results. We've closed over 1,200 cases and helped return just under 100 grand back to constituents through CRA. We also reduced the amounts owing to Service Canada by $19,000 – that's money and support getting back to where it belongs. We've also brought people together through youth, disability, and tech roundtables – making sure voices from across our community are part of the conversation. We've also built strong working relationships with partners at all levels of government, regardless of party lines, because getting results for Kitchener Centre matters more than politics. In Ottawa, I've also had the opportunity to take on some important roles. As Chair of the AI Caucus, I work with colleagues, along with experts and industry leaders, to better understand how AI is shaping our world and making sure Canada has control over its own data, tech, and future. This work is about making sure Canada is not just keeping up, but leading. I'm also proud to serve on the Science and Research Committee, where I work with all recognized parties to strengthen Canadian innovation and support the researchers in industries that drive our economy forward. I also introduced my own Private Members' Bill, C240, which will be debated in the coming days. It focuses on building a more practical approach to justice that supports both accountability and rehabilitation. I've also jointly seconded eight Private Members' Bills in the House, again across party lines, because when good legislation is put forward, politics needs to get out of the way. But more than anything, this job is about people. I did not get into this for power or influence. I did it to get power back to the people, to be the voice for those who feel unheard, and to return government to working for the people, not the other way around. There is still a lot of work ahead, and I'm just getting started. Thank you for trusting me to serve you. If you didn't initially place your trust in me, I hope that my work in Parliament and my presence in the community will earn your trust moving forward. It is truly an honor of a lifetime to serve you, the community of Kitchener Center.

k my husband, Chris, my rock, who went with the flow when I blew up our lives. There is also my mother Merren, and I know Abigail's life would be very different without my mother's guidance and support at this time. I love my mom, and I thank her. To my caucus colleagues who have been around a while, I thank them for their guidance, their support, their conversation and every answered question. I value them all so much, and I thank them. To all my colleagues in the House, I wish a happy one-year anniversary to the class of 2025.

Last week, we threw down a friendly wager with MP Terry Sheehan ahead of the Rangers vs. Greyhounds game. A deal’s a deal… and today’s House attire proves it. Always fun to bring a little hometown rivalry to Parliament!

he technological era and that our economy could really be stimulated through it. I agree completely. Innovation hubs like Canada's innovation capital, Kitchener Centre, are huge contributors to that. We also have these amazing minds coming out of our universities, who are turning into entrepreneurs and building our innovation. Where is the government missing the mark here?
