πŸ’ What a sweet celebration! πŸŽ‰ On Saturday, July 5th, the Cherry Park neighbourhood came alive for the 2025 Cherry Festival, and it was a day to remember! Families, friends, and festival-goers soaked up the sunshine, the music, and of courseβ€”all the cherry-filled goodies. My husband loved the pie eating contest, he managed to eat a whole cherry pie πŸ˜‹. I love how this festival has grown over the years, and what it represents for our community. What started as a small neighbourhood gathering has turned into a major summer event drawing thousands. Celebrating community connection, local culture and highlighting the charm of the Cherry Park neighbourhood! A neighbourhood I once called home during my years in college, it was truly special for me and my family to be a part of this incredible community event. Thanks to the incredible volunteers, performers, and community spirit, Cherry Park felt more vibrant than ever. It was a perfect summer moment full of fun, flavours, and neighbourly joy! #kitchenercentre #supportlocal #kitchenerawesome #CommunityJoy

It was an honour to attend the Women in Crisis AGM this year, hosted by Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. I was deeply moved by the incredible work being done to support not only women and children, but also to engage men in preventing domestic violence. While no photos… Read more

were taken (for privacy and safety reasons), I want to share some of the powerful impact this organization made over the past year: πŸ“Š April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025 Impact Report: β€’ 4,043 people reached through prevention and education β€’ 2,285 crisis support phone calls and chats answered β€’ 1,297 outreach clients supported β€’ 395 individuals sheltered β€” 198 women and 197 children These numbers represent lives changed β€” and in many cases, lives saved. What also stood out to me is the Engaging Men program, a unique initiative providing one-on-one and group counselling for men β€” all of which is voluntary. With three dedicated male clinicians, this program fosters accountability and healthier relationships, creating safer communities for everyone. Thanks to support from the Waterloo Region Upstream Fund, education among men has increased by 35% in the last year alone. This is community care in action β€” and it’s making a real difference. πŸ’œ #WomensCrisisServices #SupportSurvivors #EndViolence #EngagingMen #WaterlooRegion #CommunityImpact #GiveHope #kitchenercentre

toria Park. Every performance, every food stall, every conversation was a beautiful reminder of how powerful it is to celebrate the cultures and communities that shape who we are. I felt surrounded by belonging, inspired by cultural pride, and grateful for how openly and joyfully people shared their stories. What moved me most was the spirit of engagementβ€”we may not always agree, but we show up, we listen, and we learn from one another. These are the voices I welcome. These are the conversations that build bridges. Huge thank you to the organizers, artists, volunteers, and community members who made this festival possible. You created a space where everyone could feel seen, heard, and celebratedβ€”and that means the world. πŸ’› #KWMF2025 #Gratitude #CulturalPride #BelongingMatters #CommunityJoy #kitchenercentre
