This Christmas season, I want to recognize the incredible work being done by House of Friendship right here in Kitchener and across Waterloo Region. 💙 Each year, House of Friendship offers help and hope to more than 42,000 moms, dads, adults, and children by providing vital supports in four key areas: addiction treatment, food security, housing, and neighbourhood programs. Their work reaches people at some of the most difficult moments in their lives and does so with compassion and dignity. By adapting their Christmas Food Program and offering support through the Emergency Food Hamper program in Kitchener with no registration required, they are removing barriers and responding to real needs on the ground. I’m grateful to the dedicated volunteers who make this work possible, and to the KC Rotary for their annual Rotary Turkey Drive, which helps ensure families across Waterloo Region are supported. Their established initiatives provide education, care, and food directly to those most in need of support. They also operate a consignment shop in Belmont Village, where 100% of proceeds go to charity, a wonderful way for the community to shop with purpose and support local causes.
