Kelly DeRidder's constituency office is a place where people in Kitchener Centre can turn when a federal issue is not getting solved. The team helps residents work through government services and get answers. Posts here share outcomes with the Canada Revenue Agency and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. In one case, the office helped secure a reassessment that led to over $15,000 in backdated benefits for a local family. In another, Tahire, who is battling cancer, was reunited with her family on March 2 after years of effort.
Casework is only part of the picture. Kelly and her team have hosted a first-ever Seniors Clinic at the Rockway Centre, a free shredding event at the Concordia Club parking lot, and a free income tax clinic at the Kitchener Library. They also meet with local groups such as the Waterloo Food Bank, House of Friendship, Indwell, Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region and Vision Loss Rehab to learn about community needs.
Kelly has also written to the Minister's office in support of the Fire Station 8 affordable housing project in Kitchener. Below, you can browse posts, videos and House of Commons speeches about this work, with the newest first. The office is at 201-130 Weber Street W, Kitchener, and can be reached at 519-746-8867.
