I wanted to take a moment to recognize Frontline Recovery, a KW-based non-profit dedicated to helping individuals overcome homelessness and addiction through compassionate, individualized support. As encampments grow and the drug crisis worsens, too many people are left without real options. Frontline Recovery steps in with a proactive, boots-on-the-ground approach, meeting people in encampments, shelters, food banks, and on the streets to provide outreach, recovery navigation, and connections to shelter and treatment through trusted partners. Though recently established, Frontline Recovery has already helped individuals access treatment and support through its Help Line, social media outreach, and in-person engagement. Building on the success of their Winter Clothing Drive, they are expanding initiatives and coordinating new outreach efforts to support our KW community. If you are able to give, please consider supporting their efforts: E-transfer: [email protected] To learn more about Frontline Recovery visit: www.frontlinerecovery.ca

s voluntary, free initiative focuses on counselling and support, helping men understand the roots of their abusive behaviour and choose a new path forward. As Det. Const. Andrea Gilker of the Waterloo Regional Police Service said, “When we help them, we help their partners. It’s good for everybody.” This is the kind of community-based innovation that truly makes a difference. At the federal level, Conservatives are also taking action to end domestic violence. My colleague Frank Caputo, MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo, has introduced a new private member’s bill C-225 that passed second reading. The bill would classify the murder of an intimate partner as first-degree murder in all cases, create a new offence for assaulting an intimate partner, and Allow judges to order risk assessments for individuals charged with intimate partner violence while on release. These efforts, local and national, are working toward the same goal: breaking the cycle of domestic violence. Solutions together will make a difference

It is very important for all levels of government to work together to try and end the drug crisis in this country. The stakeholders and experts I’ve spoken with across addictions and mental health are very clear: the evidence supports abstinence based rehabilitation. Recovery m… Read more

nonite Central Committee - MCC ON and their leadership in our community, quietly powerful, consistently generous, and always focused on lifting others up. Their vision and values ripple through so many local initiatives. And if you haven’t visited MCC Thrift On Kent, you’re missing out! It’s more than a store, it’s a hub of sustainability, community connection, and purpose. Together, we chatted about how we can collaborate to make volunteering more accessible and impactful. The energy and ideas flowing between these organizations are a reminder of what’s possible when we work together.
